Blink Ink is a nifty little magazine. It comes in stapled pages, which I absolutely love, evoking as it does the punk-rock cousin of literary magazines: the zine. Issue 43’s cover features what I interpret as an extremely fed-up robot. She appears in a pastel palette that reminds us that, grudges and aggravations aside, spring is finally on its way.The inside cover also features some cool surreal art (a robot walks through an icy world where one red tree blazes). And the pages within are a delightful hot pink.The theme of the issue is Lost and Found, and all of the pieces, which appear to be no longer than 50 words or so, touch on this theme. Writers describe losing loved ones, finding new career paths, losing wedding rings, finding one’s white privilege. The pieces are charming and you can soak them up in a blink.The editors of this sweet little magazine say, “What we love most is writing that has found that preternatural detail of thought or thing that cracks the story open and allows it to matter or to reveal a truth.” Submissions should be about 50 words.** Sooo, Great time to submit! Issue #43 of Blink-Ink, our “Lost and Found” issue, has been released. Everyone should receive their copy on or before March 1st, 2021. It is an amazing and stellar little masterpiece, and look what else you will receive. There is the issue itself with truly great artwork form Maiya Winter, and from our sister press, The Mambo Academy of Kitty Wang, there is “Oven Mitt” (Too Hot to Handle) with art work by both Julian Wong and Claire Ibrra. Also, it may not sound like much, but there is a cool Blink-Ink bookmark with our new Tree of Life logo. We will post the who’s who of our contributors shortly. If you are not a current subscriber, or want to pony-up for another round please use the PayPal feature on our site. Subscribing is cheap, it’s easy, and there has never been abetter time.

Coming we have something very special. Our issue, “Mercy” has hit the mails. This is our 42nd issue since 2009 and we are very proud of it. The covers are provided by returning artist Clifford Thompson. The contribution authors are all strong writers. Names you know and names you may not, but all good. With this issue come another publication. It is “Jane Doe” from our sister press The Mambo Academy of Kitty Wang. We are very pleased to welcome Maiya Winter as our cover artist. A January 23rd Zoom reading for Jane Doe is planned, so please keep an eye out for that.
